Nepali Lai Kaam
The community marketplace for Nepalese living in Australia.
Nepali Lai Kaam is a community app for Nepalese across Australia to list and discover jobs, rooms and real estate, buy and sell items, find local businesses and promote events. It moved a busy Facebook community into a dedicated app with location-based search, chat and event ticketing.
The challenge
The community shared jobs, rooms and ads through a Facebook page and group, where posts were hard to search, quickly buried and impossible to manage. People needed a faster way to find what was relevant near them.
The approach
A dedicated marketplace app with categories for jobs, real estate, buy and sell, a business directory and events. Location-based search with radius filters, instant alerts for new listings, built-in chat between buyers and sellers, event ticketing and paid featured banners turn it into a self-serve platform.
The result
The app has passed 10,000 downloads on Google Play and gives the community one place to post, search and connect, with a revenue stream through featured banners and subscriptions.
