Mahal is a super app that combines ride booking, bill payments, travel tickets, a digital wallet and a rewards program. Users book two or four wheeler rides, pay electricity, internet, TV and water bills, buy flight and bus tickets, and earn travel points by walking and engaging with content. A separate merchant app lets businesses manage appointments, ads, reviews and leads.
The challenge
People juggle separate apps for rides, bills, tickets and payments, and local businesses struggle to reach them. The goal was one app people open every day, with a reason to come back.
The approach
Ride booking with go now or schedule later, live driver tracking and pickup codes sits next to bills and recharge, airline and bus tickets, insurance and a wallet that loads from banks and mobile wallets and can send or withdraw money. A travel points system rewards steps from the built-in pedometer, rewarded ads and referrals. Social profiles, posts and chat keep users engaged, and the merchant app gives businesses dashboards for appointments, banners, posts, reviews, lead and ad wallets, and reports.
